About

Masoudeh Miri (b. 1985, Zahedan, Iran) is a painter whose figurative, dream-infused works in acrylic and watercolor weave together fragments of memory, identity, and the female experience. Her imagery moves between the intimate and the universal, drawing on the tension she has lived between societal expectations and the sense of freedom nurtured within her family.

Raised in Tehran and trained as an architect in Turin and Milan, Miri approaches painting with the precision of design and the sensitivity of storytelling. Her recent series, Concetto spaziale attese–ferite (Spatial Concept: Expectations–Wounds), transforms a lifelong question—“What does it mean to be a woman?”—into a visual language of symbolic spaces and delicate yet assertive forms.

Miri has exhibited in solo and group shows across Italy, including Svelare il presente: Arte e impegno sociale promoted by CGIL Turin, Donna, vita, libertà: 7 artiste iraniane at Casa del Conte Verde in Rivoli, and Labrys – Città e libertà at The Others Art Fair, Turin. She created a mural and painted shutters dedicated to Afghan women for MAU (Museum of Urban Art) in Turin, and in 2021 was awarded the Torre Pellice Drawing Prize by Galleria Filippo Scroppo.
